Privacy
This page is a plain-language summary of how MiraEducate handles your family's data. A full, formal Privacy Policy is in progress. If you have a specific question about your data in the meantime, please contact us directly.
What we collect
When you create a family account, we collect the information needed to run it: your contact details, your children's names and (optionally) dates of birth, and records of enrolments, sessions, assignments and assessments as your family uses the platform.
Who can see it
Your family's data is visible to your own family, to the tutors actually assigned to your child, and to MiraEducate staff with a legitimate reason to access it, never to another family, and never to a tutor your child has not been matched with.
Consent
We ask for your consent when you create your account, and separately for optional communications; you are never opted into anything beyond what is needed to run your account without asking first.
Lesson recordings, photos and promotional use
Some live lessons are recorded. Everyone in the lesson is told before a recording starts. Recordings are used to check lesson quality, to keep children safe, to resolve concerns, and to support learning. Only authorised MiraEducate staff can manage them, and they are deleted after a set period.
MiraEducate may also use photos, screenshots and short clips from lessons, recordings and events in its promotional material, including our website, social media and advertising. We only do this for a child when a parent or guardian has given permission, and for a tutor when the tutor has agreed. Parents can give permission on the enquiry form or in the family dashboard.
This permission is optional, and lessons and every other service are the same either way. You can withdraw it at any time from your family dashboard or by contacting us. After you withdraw it, we stop using new material of your child and remove existing material from the channels we control where we reasonably can. Material that has already been printed or shared by others may not be recoverable.
We never publish a child's surname, school, home address or contact details alongside their image.
Website statistics
We may count visits to our public website with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or collect personal information. Pages you see after signing in, including children's pages, are never measured.
Your data, your control
If you have a question about the data we hold, or want to ask about exporting or deleting it, reach out through our Contact page and we will help directly.
